We stopped on a Sunday for dinner. Place is very neat with a kind of a garage feel in the bar. We elected to eat on the deck on a nice fall evening. We all ordered beers that were served with a cold glass I got the sausage and pulled pork. My wife got the brisket and our friend the burnt ends. We got the pea salad, hot potato salad, Cole slaw, corn, and Mac n cheese for sides. We all shared our sides. They had three homemade sauces on the table. I tried and enjoyed all three. I thought the burnt ends were a little dry along with the sausage. The pork and brisket were good. Our waitress was friendly and provided great service. Enjoy KC style BBQ.
Leaving a review in hopes they will pay attention to this review and the numerous others that have mentioned their burnt ends taste like they're soaked in salt. Too much salt in your rub!!! Service was excellent. Appetizers of chili cheese fries, onion rings, pretzel bites were excellent. Smoke turkey was very good. But I'll never buy those burnt ends again until I see reviews saying they have changed their seasonings.
Wonderful little BBQ joint. Our waitress was so friendly and helpful. The food was very delicious and the ambience very cool. Since we were in the Kansas City area we had to stop for BBQ. Glad we chose this place as it didn't disappoint.
The ladies were funny, and the service was solid. Thanks! The environment was clean and eye candy with the trucks, trains and cars! FUN! The BBQ was good, and the sauces were fun. I had the Tuesday special, which was pulled pork and sausage sandwich with fries! Fun stop! Thanks!
What a delightful hidden gem! Nestled inconspicuously off 24 highway, this place boasts the perfect location--so perfect, in fact, that you might drive right past if you're not paying close attention. The bacon chips are an absolute must-try; they make for a fantastic appetizer. If they happen to be out, fear not--opt for the bacon wonton wraps instead. A word of advice: order them as soon as you settle in to ensure you don't miss out. Now, let's talk about the burnt ends or ribs--they're my second go-to, and honestly, you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Bacon takes center stage as a staple in this joint, although calling it just a "joint" feels like a bit of an understatement. The decor adds a unique charm, featuring chopped-up old cars, diecast cars adorning the walls, and car-related signage scattered everywhere, creating a cool and nostalgic atmosphere. While the space may be somewhat cozy, it's adequately sized to accommodate guests. Additionally, there's an outdoor patio seating area for those who prefer to dine al fresco. In conclusion, this place is absolutely worth the visit. Even if there's a line, I'd recommend waiting--it's an experience you won't regret.
We arrived at A Little BBQ Joint just after opening on Sunday. We were greeted and told to have a seat anywhere. My husband was a big fan of the dim dive ambience. One of the servers immediately brought our menus and another server brought our drinks. I read a recent review that was pretty harsh regarding the service but we did not experience that at all. The service we received was great. It was the perfect ratio of friendly and efficient. We ordered a full slab, a pound of burnt ends, fries, beans, and spicy slaw. Both meats were excellent. The ribs were just the right amount of tender, with a little bite and not fall-off-the-bone. Perfect. The burnt ends had great flavor and were not too fatty or too salty (as other reviews had indicated). Of the 3 sauces (sister, wife, MIL) wife is the best balance of sweet and spicy, to me. But they were all good! The beans were fine. I've had better but I've also had way worse. The spicy slaw is a vinegar based red cabbage slaw that could use a little oomph. Good base but just ok. The fries were crispy and therefore approved. We have to go back and try more of the menu because this was a satisfying meal. But for now, let's not forget the leftovers...I'm already looking forward to those for dinner tonight!
Coming from out of town this was some great KC BBQ! It is very much a whole in the wall vibe with lots of vehicle themed decor, and a casual setting. The service was great--we ended up adding a table 30 minutes in when the rest of our party arrived which was much easier than expected and our server did so without batting an eye. Great service! The food was great as well with plenty of flavor and good sauces on the table. My group loved our meal and it was a great experience that could have been much more chaotic at other restaurants with less accommodating staff!
